Iran farmers harvesting pistachio in Yazd

Iran is the main producer of pistachio in the world and Iran’s Yazd Province has many hectares of pistachio orchards with farmers hand-harvesting the nuts in September.

Ardakan city located in Yazd is a hub for pistachio production in Iran. Some 6,000 hectares of the city’s land are covered with pistachio orchards. Here is a pictorial report showing the yield of pistachio in the city of Ardakan.
